The headline inflation rate in January 2016 (i.e. the annual percentage change in the CPI in January 2016 compared with that of January 2015) for the country is 5.6%. This annual rate of inflation is 0.7 index points higher than the corresponding annual rate of 4.9% observed in December 2015. The month on month inflation rate (i.e. the percentage change in the CPI in January 2016 compared with that of December 2015) is 0.6%.
The Economic Census was conducted for the first time in Swaziland. This report presents results on Phase 1 of the Economic Census, that is, the listing of all establishments that are engaged in any economic activity in the country, including non-for-profit institutions.
